Johnson as Tenn. military governor

Just weeks after federal troops took over Tennessee's Fort Henry and Fort Donelson, Andrew Johnson arrived in Nashville. The author has written a new book, "Andrew Johnson's Civil War and Reconstruction," about the still controversial, often reviled Johnson. It focuses on that important period in the life of the man who became America's 17th president. • Article
